Karnaphuli Tunnel is an under water express way tunnel in the port city of Chattagram, Bangladesh under the Karnaphuli River. It is a mega project for Bangladesh. China Communications Constructions Company has been selected for the construction work. The Constriction works stared om 24 February 2019. It has been completed in 2023.It Connects cities which are situated on either sides of The Karnaphuli River with Chittagong Hill Tracts. The high ways of Dhaka -Chattogram- Cox's Bazar have been connected through this tunnel. It is one of the longest tunnels in South Asia with its total length of 9.092 k.m. including 3.4 k.m under the Karnaphuli River. The tunnel has been built to reduce travel time and improve accessibility between Chittagong and the Hill Tracts. It has speeded up communication between Dhaka and Chattagram. Our national GDP will increase  0.17% by Karnaphuli Tunnel . For this tunnel, the distance between Cox bazar and Chattggram has been decreased by 40 km. 16000 vehicles can pass through this tunnel every day. After all, it will make a huge contribution to our economics.

কর্ণফুলী টানেল হল কর্ণফুলী নদীর তলদেশে বাংলাদেশের বন্দর নগরী চট্টগ্রামের একটি পানির নিচের এক্সপ্রেসওয়ে টানেল। এটি বাংলাদেশের জন্য একটি মেগা প্রকল্প। নির্মাণ কাজের জন্য নির্বাচন করা হয়েছে চায়না কমিউনিকেশনস কনস্ট্রাকশন কোম্পানিকে। 24 ফেব্রুয়ারী 2019 তারিখে কনস্ট্রাকশনের কাজগুলি স্থির হয়ে গেছে৷ এটি 2023 সালে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে৷ এটি পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামের সাথে কর্ণফুলী নদীর দু'পাশে অবস্থিত শহরগুলিকে সংযুক্ত করে৷ এই টানেলের মাধ্যমে ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম-কক্সবাজার মহাসড়ক যুক্ত হয়েছে। এটি দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার দীর্ঘতম টানেলগুলির মধ্যে একটি যার মোট দৈর্ঘ্য 9.092 কিমি। কর্ণফুলী নদীর তলদেশে ৩.৪ কি.মি. ভ্রমণের সময় কমাতে এবং চট্টগ্রাম ও পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের মধ্যে প্রবেশযোগ্যতা উন্নত করতে টানেলটি নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে। এটি ঢাকা ও চট্টগ্রামের মধ্যে যোগাযোগকে গতিশীল করেছে। কর্ণফুলী টানেল আমাদের জাতীয় জিডিপি 0.17% বৃদ্ধি করবে। এই টানেলের জন্য কক্সবাজার থেকে চট্টগ্রামের দূরত্ব ৪০ কিলোমিটার কমেছে। এই টানেল দিয়ে প্রতিদিন 16000 যানবাহন যেতে পারে। সর্বোপরি, এটি আমাদের অর্থনীতিতে একটি বিশাল অবদান রাখবে।
